DUBAI – Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office, has unveiled a compelling visual tribute to the UAE’s Founding Fathers, prominently displayed on the Red Line of the Dubai Metro.

The installation features iconic images of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, accompanied by verses from ‘The People and the Leader’, a poem by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The tribute celebrates the enduring legacy and values of unity, vision and progress shaped by the founding leaders.

Launched in cooperation with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the initiative falls under the umbrella of the ‘National Month’ celebrations and is part of the second edition of the #ZayedAndRashid campaign. Extending from Centrepoint station to Expo 2020 station, the creative display is visible to thousands of daily commuters, residents and visitors, delivering a vivid reminder of the leaders’ pivotal role in shaping the nation’s development.

Symbolic tribute

Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, said the initiative is organised under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council. She said the campaign honours the values of the Founding Fathers, which continue to inspire current and future generations across the UAE.

She added that the Dubai Metro, as one of the city’s most recognisable symbols of modernity and sustainability, offers a fitting platform to showcase the values of unity and partnership embodied by Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Rashid from the earliest days of the Union.

Fatma Al Khumiri, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communication at RTA, said the initiative aligns with RTA’s vision to reinforce national identity across the public transport network, which serves millions of passengers annually. She said the Dubai Metro has evolved into a dynamic space that not only connects communities but also strengthens shared values and collective belonging.

Decorating Metro carriages with images of the Founding Fathers, she noted, reflects Dubai’s ongoing journey of linking authenticity with progress.

National Month celebrations

The creative Metro installation is part of a wider programme of events and activations taking place throughout November until 2 December. These include the vibrant Flag Garden at Umm Suqeim Beach, the large-scale artwork adorning The Gate Building in Dubai International Financial Centre, and various cultural and community experiences open to residents and visitors.

Organised for the second consecutive year under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ‘National Month’ celebrations reflect Dubai’s cultural depth and social diversity, offering an opportunity to connect with the UAE’s national story.

Audiences are encouraged to share their experiences using the hashtag #ZayedAndRashid.
